Lordy Me
2019
acrylic and collage on panel
11 in w x 14 in h
Lordy Me is taken from Ruth Stone's poem, "Advice." I had the honor of hearing her read it many times. I took her Contemporary American Poets class at University of Illinois, UC, in 1971. Ruth had three daughters, and what she said rang true. Little did I know how much the poem would resonate years later when I had a daughter of my own. That fine black cat is my daughter's wily cat, Jane.
